Feeding the Community." FOOD PANTRY PROGRAM".
Each Thursday, people start lining up as early as 8 am. Volunteers from the community and our parish bag the food that comes from City Harvest, Food Bank, Emergency and Assistance Food Program. Each family receives a number and at 12 noon, the tickets are exchanged for a bag of food. Perishables are distributed first and then dried and canned goods. The distribution ends when all the food is gone. Sometimes we don't have enough for the number of clients that show up.
If you would like to volunteer or donate, please call 718-466-9370.
Walton Family Health Center
One of St. Edmund's greatest achievement was to partner with The Institute for Family Health and Primary Care Development Corporation. In 1997 we brought a high quality Health Center to this neighborhood by becoming a community sponsor. The center had another ground breaking ceremony in 2011 to offer expanded services in dental and mental health services.
Contact the center at 718-583-3060.
